Today, many of us get movie rentals at least a few times a month. Normally they wait for the DVD to come out, in preference to seeing the film at the cinema. Here is a short list of some of the most popular DVD rentals in October 2008.

INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL: The Indiana Jones movies are back, after a 19 year break. This makes four movies in the Indiana Jones movies. In this, the latest adventure, Mr. Jones battles the Soviets. The Soviets are looking for some South American relics, and the secrets they carry.

THE LAZARUS PROJECT: One time crook Ben Garvey has turned the corner. With a loving family, and steady paycheck, he has found happiness. Then, he is fired from work, and he finds himself heading back into the criminal world. His criminal rebirth is a complete bust, and he is sentenced to death. Death by lethal injection awaits. To his surprise, he now finds himself in a psychiatric ward. He now struggles for his sanity, and his spritual well being.

LINEWATCH: Michael Dixon (Cuba Gooding Jr.) is a respected boarder agent in New Mexico, and life seems to be good. Soon his past is going to catch up with him. He was part of the violent L.A. gang scene, but he had the courage to leave. When an unfortunate meeting gives away his location to his old gang, he and his family are put in a potentially deadly situation. He must risk his future, and make sure that gang leader drake is able to safely get a huge illegal drug delivery into the country.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This film tells us the tale of Military scientist Dr. Bruce Banner, who, because of a gamma ray experiment gone bad, as been changed into the Incredible Hulk. This box office hit is about the comic legend, the Hulk. Stars include Edward Norton, Tim Roth, William hurt, Liv Tyler. The director is Louis Leterrier. The film genre is sci-fi/action.

DECEPTION: Audiitor for the elite, Jonathan McQuarry has a chance meeting with charismatic corporate lawyer Wyatt Bose. It is a meeting that will change his life. John is exposed to “The List”, where people find a steamy sexual indulgance. Sadly, he is driven into a treacherous game of back stabbing and death.

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: Trying to find his brother, science professor Trevor Anderson explores caves in Iceland that leads him to the center of the earth. This is another version of the 1959 production, which was about the science fiction book by celbrated writer Jules Verne. Directed by eric brevig, and starring Brendan Fraser.

THE HAPPENING: Elliot Moore (Mark Wahlberb), along with his wife and some friends are leaving Philadelphia by train. Their city has been thrown into chaos. Many people are being overcome by some strange illness, and are commiting suicide. Can we solve this dilemma, or is this the end of the human race?

IRON MAN: Weapons developer, business mogal, Tony Stark is attacked and taken by Afghan insurgents. He is ordered to create weapon systems for the insurgent group. He sustained injuries when he was abducted, and has shrapnel stuck in his chest. To save his life from this injury, and break away from his enemies, he develops a suit of armor, which protects and strengthens him. Iron Man is born.

SPEED RACER: A comic, turned TV anime, gets real actors. Much like the film The Flinstones, Speed Racer chages a cartoon to a movie with an actual cast. Speed Racer who loves racing. His goal is to win The Crucible, a very dangerous race that had cost his brother his life. With odds against him, and risking it all, he partners up with his enemy of the past, Racer X, in a last ditch effort to give himself a chance to win, so the family business won’t go under.
