Being a stay at home mom is not an easy task. In fact, it is more difficult than having to work at an office. You have so many tasks to work on, but you also have to mind the kids especially the small ones. All of this amounts to tremendous pressure on your part as a housewife but, luckily, there are ways to get around that.

Prioritizing tasks:
There will always be a huge pile of tasks to complete, no matter what time of the day or year it is. The secret to managing them is by prioritizing the tasks. The way to go about it is by making a list of tasks first. Most successful stay at home moms find it easy to spread out their task list across the days of the week. So, if Monday is for ironing the clothes, Tuesday could be set aside for taking the kids to soccer. Wednesday could be for mending clothes, darning work etc. Many a stay at home mom finds certain tasks to be plain boring. These include doing the laundry, washing the dishes etc. However, these need to get done. Therefore, one trick that you can follow is to set aside time each day of the week for these activities. If you tend to feel especially lazy during the afternoons, try scheduling these routine tasks at that time. It will keep you active and prevent you from falling asleep.

However, in order to streamline your tasks, you need to know what tasks you have to prioritize. This ensures that the most important tasks are placed at the top spot in the queue so they can be addressed immediately. For example, washing the laundry is ideal for doing on Saturdays so that they will be dry by Saturday evening. You can then organize the clothing by that time, leaving you with quality time with your family on Sundays. To find out what tasks needs to be assigned priorities each, come up with a list of tasks that you need to do the whole week. From this task list, pick out the ones that are most urgent and assign them the first spot in your task queue. Continue doing this until you come up with a flexible work schedule.

Mondays are meant for less:
Mondays make all of us stay at home moms feel blue. You are just getting back to the grind after a blissful weekend. Hence, don’t burden yourself further by doing too many household chores on a Monday. Start by just doing the laundry or maybe washing the dishes. The rest of the day can be spent doing something fun and creative that you enjoy. The key to remaining a successful stay at home mom is to know your limits and how much workload you can actually take on.

Finally, one advantage to streamlining your tasks is that you have more time to do other things. You can meet up with friends, enjoy a good book, watch your favorite show or even pursue your hobbies. The key to a successful career as a stay at home mom is time management. If you practice this, doing all those tasks can be a breeze.
