In order to have an effective improvement project, the leaders, or Black Belts are depended on for effectiveness in leadership. This will most likely be the Black Belts because they should be the ones with the best knowledge of Six Sigma techniques, as well as being effective at mobilizing all parties required to bring about these improvements. First, they must be able to mobilize themselves.

Not all Black Belts are skilled at mobilizing the teams and stakeholders. But it is possible to develop these skills, for which it is necessary to learn to mobilize oneself from the start. If the Black Belt gets into the heads of the other team members and understands their viewpoints, it is then possible for them to understand everything. If they are able to mobilize themselves in such a scenario, they can develop skills to mobilize others as well.

IN order for the Black Belt to mobilize his team members, is it important to step into their shoes. One of the first things a team member will want to know is what is in this for them? The best answer to this question would be to ask back, what they are expecting? Then the Black Belt can plan the meeting around all of these answers.

Another group that will need mobilizing is the stakeholders. This group is made up of top management, colleagues and clients. It is important to keep them informed of the status of the projects. This will give the stakeholders more of a push in accepting projects.

If the Black Belts can mobilize themselves, then they will be successful at mobilizing other involved. Keeping up with reviews and analysis by the members will make sure that all parties involved are in unison with the success of the project at hand.
