Anyone can create a website these days. Someone with just a small idea in their brain, can look towards the world wide web as an avenue to make a personal website and vent whatever is on their mind. With all the free web hosting sites available, why not have strongly held opinions out for the world to see. Typing in “my homepage” into a search engine will yield over 7 million pages complete with animated GIFs to view. Most of these sites will rarely get more than a hundred hits in their lifetime.

Why? They aren’t writers. They don’t realize the sheer stagnation of their writing. Quality writing is not written as conversation, but as a book. But it’s how they talk to their friends and they seem to enjoy it, don’t they? It can’t be all that bad, right?

The answer is, yes. With the overused WYSISYG HTML editor at their disposal, they create their own webpage. It has become extremely easy and there is nothing out there to stop these attempts at creating personal pages. The vastly used templates are equipped with a subliminal reflex to close the window immediately.

In addition, businesses create sites that serve no purpose. Although they have the resources, they haven’t the direction. They make weak attempts to sale product to those accidentally stumbling by and are really only trying to get a piece of the already thin cake. Most people that visit these sites are uninterested to begin with.

On the other hand, some have great ideas but lack the means to create anything worthwhile. Many times someone starts to build a webpage, but fails to gage just how difficult the task is. This leads to ridiculous sites that are both difficult to navigate and hideous to view. To correct their mistakes, most want to add on and make it more flashy where simplicity is probably the better option.

Although someone may have the best idea in the world, chances are they missed the boat and are jumping into a cesspool of people who had the same idea and already created their site. They will put together what they deem as a masterpiece and are never heard or seen again. Most fail at the planning stage. It is important to always look at the next step and not to give up on the site. This is precisely what most do not do and are left with a failed project. Barriers of entry for creating webpages would benefit all, because they would prohibit people who are not truly ready.

Many webpage designing beginners only see the outer part of the task at hand. They fail to see what exactly is involved such as writing, coding, generating advertising, coming up with a good concept and having the will to see the project come to fruition. Sites may take a very long time to complete and if people quit, we are left with just a bunch of random, wasted space on the Internet.

There are thousands of webpages out there with just random pet pictures, staunchly expressed opinions, and worthless services. This can be credited to people not following through on their web building projects. If someone is not up for this daunting task, then they should never start to begin with.
