Stress just seems to be part of our lives like eating and breathing. There are more demands placed on us over shorter time periods than perhaps ever in the history of mankind. In the days of old, stress was usually from physical danger. If you were a pioneer for example, then the seeing of indians would definitely cause stress as the pioneer surely feared physical harm. This type of stress is called the flight or fight reaction. However, in modern times most of our stress is mental and not physical. Yet our bodies have the same reaction to mental stress as they do to physical stress.

Stress has been around as long as mankind. It may seem like a modern problem but it has always existed. We need it as a response to deciding whether to deal with the current problem or to run away. That works well if you are facing wild animals but it is not so helpful when you are at work.

They say there\’s more than one way to skin a cat. The same goes when you start tearing your hair out with all the frustration, grief, anxiety, and yes, stress. It\’s a state of mental conditioning that is like taking that bitter pill down your throat, causing you to lose your sense of self, and worse your sanity. Just thinking about it can drive anyone off the edge.

Congratulations, since you are reading this article you have considered taking the first step on the road to quitting smoking, or you are at least thinking about doing so. It is not an easy thing to do. Perhaps you have friends or work colleagues that smoke or you think you will be too stressed out if you quit smoking. These are all factors working against you as you attempt to give up cigarettes.

Stress can be defined many different ways. The most common definition is, stress is the body’s response to an outside situation in one’s life. Stress effects one’s environment, life and others around them in many ways. Sometimes these situations get the better of us and we have trouble dealing with the feelings of stress. You may become irritable, hostile, angry or overly sensitive just to name a few. Sometimes our physical body deals with the stress in an unhealthy way as well. You may have high blood pressure, become depressed, develop ulcers, or have a heart attack. It is important to learn what your stress triggers are and how to deal with both the triggers and the effects. Only by learning this will you be able to successfully manage your stress.

A hypnotic state can be achieved many different ways. Simply watching TV or driving can be considered a hypnotic state. However it becomes difficult to produce this state on command.
