New Years Eve is one party night of the year. Many consume a lot of alcohol on this national holiday. Do we think of how we will feel the day after? If youve been out partying you likely know how it feels to be hung over. Consuming alcohol is hard on our digestive tract, and consuming too often makes it hard for your body to recouperate. You get empty calories that burn those nutrients you need for healthy body function. There are steps you can take to bring your body back into balance. One of my favorites is Kombucha Tea. Never heard of it? It is not an energy drink, but most everyone who drinks it says it improves their energy. It is not a nutritional supplement, but it is rich with vitamins, enzymes, and healthy acids. What do you get with Kombucha? Enzymes, carbonic acid, acetic acid, folic acid, usnic acid, glucuronic acid, and gluconic acid. You also get a dose of vitamins B1, B2, B3 (niacin), B6, and the all-important B12. You get a little vitamin C in there as well, in the form of lactic acid. Most of us eat a very acidic diet. The meat, alcohol and cola diet is a different, and harmful type of acid balance, different than the acids found in Kombucha. This natural food based drink restores pH balance and gives energy. It is balancing and supportative for the body. Here is another basic alcohol fact ” alcohol depletes our magnesium supply. Our what? Magnesium is one of the most important minerals in your body. You have heard all the hype about calcium, well you need magnesium to get the benefit from your calcium. When you drink you reduce the already depleted magnesium supply in your body. When we are low on magnesium we are not able to absorb nutrients as well through our digestive tract. How then do we replenish? Dr. Mark Sircus, as well as others, have found that transdermal magnesium can help replenish our supplies of this vital nutrient. You need magnesium to complete over 300 of the enzyme functions in your body. Magnesium impacts our blood sugar, our ability to calm ourselves, sleep, and many mental health functions. Do not let your hang over hang around any longer! Give your body what it needs to fight back and restore to its proper balance. Who knows, you may feel even better than you did before that night of partying!
