Many people want a Henna tattoo design but find themselves either uncertain as to whether or not they want their body decorated permanently or they do not want to undergo the pain associated with tattoo machines. A Henna tattoo is a great alternative to the more mainstream tattooing and it is not permanent. This ancient art form has become much more mainstream thanks to a revival in Indian and Asian influenced designs.

The art tattoo has certainly come a long way since the first human marked his or her body for a ritual. Many of the early markings were to distinguish between clans or tribes but have since evolved into a pop cultural phenomenon. Soccer mom’s sporting tattoos on their ankles and teenagers eagerly marking their body to show their transcendence from childhood into adulthood.

The art tattoo has come into popular culture in many forms. Ancient ritualized markings denoting caste levels, honor to various gods and goddesses as well as accomplishments have found themselves at the end of a tattoo machine for the modern human canvas as a way to show personal expression.

There are tattoo studios that do offer permanent designs that resemble the henna tattoo. These tattoos are put into place with the typical tattoo machines but use a red dye that will remain permanent. A note of caution concerning henna is the use of a product labeled as “black henna” or an indigo. Natural henna does not come in dark shades.

This is defiantly one decision that you do not want to go with the lowest price available. It more than pays to be well informed and know the difference between the many types of shops. The shop should be professional and still make you feel comfortable to hang around and chat. The better tattoo shops will have their own custom designs, and you will need to make an appointment ahead of time.

The cost of an original tattoo can be expensive, but not blending into the crowd with the same tattoo as five other people in the room more than makes up for it. By getting your ink done at one of the better places you’ll get superior craftsmanship and more help if something is not to your satisfaction. You will always get what you pay for, if you don’t want to pay then you will not get superior craftsmanship.

The dark colors are actually made by combining henna with a chemical. There can be very harsh side effects such as skin blistering. As with any product, even a natural one such as henna, there can be allergic reactions. This is particularly true if the individual has a rare genetic condition called a G6PD deficiency. In large doses the dye molecule in henna can be fatal. If it is unknown whether or not henna will cause an allergic reaction it is best to do a small skin test.

A properly applied henna tattoo design is a thing of great beauty and intricacy. The delicate lines and swirls have long been a fascination upon the female’s skin. Thanks to more and more celebrities embracing Eastern culture, the influence has reached far into Western ideas and images of exotic beauty and continues to enjoy a rise in popularity.
